Ways We Work

Rolfing® is often sought for specific structural challenges, especially during periods of physical transition or chronic strain.

The focus areas below represent common applications where this work is known to be highly effective. That said, structural integration is not limited to these categories. It is adaptable to a wide range of goals and concerns.

Postpartum Structural Recovery

You Carried a Baby.

Now Let’s Help You Feel Like Yourself Again.

Pregnancy changes everything.

Your ribs expand. Your pelvis shifts.

You spend hours nursing, rocking, carrying, bending.

Somewhere in the blur of caring for a newborn, your own body starts whispering:

  • Why does my back ache constantly?

  • Why do my hips feel unstable?

  • Why can’t I stand upright without effort?

This isn’t weakness. It’s adaptation.

A postpartum series helps your structure reorganize after birth — restoring balance through the rib cage, pelvis, and shoulders so you can move, breathe, and carry your child with less strain.

You deserve support, too.

The Desk Worker Reset

Undo 8+ Hours at a Desk.

Modern work pulls you forward.

Head in front of shoulders.

Chest collapsed. Breath shallow.

Neck constantly working overtime.

By the end of the day you may feel:

Tight across the shoulders

Achy in the low back

Foggy from neck tension

Like you’re shrinking

The Desk Worker Reset restores vertical support.

When your head stacks over your shoulders and your ribs move freely again, tension doesn’t have to work so hard.

You shouldn’t feel compressed by your own life.

Orthodontics & TMJ Structural Support

When Your Bite Changes, Your Body Has to Adjust.

Braces. Invisalign. Functional orthodontics.

As your teeth shift, your jaw position changes, and your head, neck, and shoulders often follow. You might notice:

  • Jaw tightness

  • Neck stiffness

  • Headaches

A sense that everything feels “off”

Teeth don’t exist in isolation. They’re part of a whole-body structure.

This focused series supports the fascia around the jaw, throat, and upper spine so your body can adapt more comfortably and integrate alignment changes with less tension.

Structural change deserves structural support.

Migraine & Chronic Headache Support

When Migraines and Headaches Keep Coming Back. If you live with migraines or frequent headaches, you know the pattern:

The pressure builds. Your neck tightens. Your jaw clenches. Light becomes too much.

While migraines are complex and multifactorial, structural strain can contribute to the load your system is carrying.

When the head is not well supported by the rib cage and spine, small tensions accumulate.

This series focuses on:

  • Occipital and upper neck fascia

  • Jaw and throat tension

  • Rib cage mobility and breath

  • Shoulder girdle balance

We’re not chasing symptoms.

We’re improving support — so your system has less strain to manage.

For many clients, that makes a meaningful difference.

Runner & Endurance Athlete Structural Optimization

Run Taller. Run With Less Effort.

Running amplifies whatever pattern you bring to it.

A slight pelvic rotation becomes knee strain.

Tight hip flexors shorten your stride.

Collapsed arches fatigue your calves.

You stretch. You strengthen.

But something still feels inefficient.

This focused series improves how force travels through your body — from foot to pelvis to rib cage — so your stride becomes smoother and your breath less restricted.

The goal isn’t just pain relief.

It’s economy. Resilience. Longevity.

Working alongside Physical Therapy

Many clients choose Rolfing® while in physical therapy, or after discharge, to support tissue mobility, structural balance, and whole-body integration during the rehab process.

We collaborate with your existing care.

We do not replace it.

What to Wear to Your Rolfing® Session

Rolfing® is a hands-on, movement-based practice that works best when your practitioner can see and access the structure of your body. The clothes you wear—and what you put on your skin—help support that process.

Here’s what I recommend:

For Women: A sports bra and comfortable, form-fitting shorts (no pockets). Two-piece athletic swimwear also works well.
For Men: Brief-style underwear or fitted athletic shorts (no pockets).

Loose-fitting clothing like yoga pants or baggy shirts can make it harder to see your body's alignment and how you’re moving.

🚫 Please avoid applying lotion or oils before your session.
They can make it difficult to get a good grip on the tissue and may reduce the effectiveness of the work.

Your comfort is always the priority.

If you prefer more coverage or feel shy, just let me know—draping options are always available, and we’ll find what works best for you. The goal is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported.

If you’re ever unsure, feel free to reach out before your session.
